- 1 lb chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until translucent.
- Stir in garlic, ginger, garam masala, turmeric, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
- Pour in tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes to let flavors meld.
- Stir in heavy cream and cook for another 5 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice.
Notes
- You can substitute coconut milk for heavy cream for a dairy-free version.
- Use chicken thighs for more tender meat.
- Adjust spice levels to taste.
