- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 package frozen tater tots (about 32 oz)
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground meat and diced onion until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cooked meat, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and half of the cheese.
- Spread the mixture evenly in a casserole dish.
- Arrange frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and bake for an additional 5 minutes until melted.
Notes
- Feel free to add cooked vegetables like peas or corn for extra flavor.
- For a vegetarian version, replace meat with sautéed mushrooms or veggie crumbles.
